WITHOUT CEREMONY

In Matthews 11:28 Jesus issued a famous invitation, “come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. When you look at the phrase ‘heavy laden’ it means to overburden with ceremony, spiritual anxiety. He was angry with the leaders of the day because of the unnecessary weights they put on the people.

It still happens today as the saints are often intimidated by the written and unwritten rules, scared of making a mistake. Over aware of their supposed shortcomings, not measuring up to imposed standards.

Jesus is still saying come to Me without ceremony, come not as some religious version of your self but just bring yourself. I am interested in you. Learn things that will help not hinder. Rest will be the result.
