Stand Still
Hi, just wanted to have a catch up and give you an overview of what is happening at the moment. We find our situation mirroring a series of events in the life of King Hezekiah in @nd Chronicles chapters 29 to 31. We have restored the Jesus Now ministry after it had been idle for nearly 10 years. Set up a new trust, opened a bank account, began to get leaders back up and running and started a website. sent out messengers saying the Lord is moving, get ready. Some responded and some like in Hezekiah’s day didn’t see any need for an urgent response. The messengers said you are in captivity now and its only going to get worse.
We often kid ourselves into thinking that things are good when in fact things are far from good. Been there and done that. In the story with Hezekiah they begin to have a move of the Spirit but still need more people and leaders to come on line. They then recognized that there wasn’t enough resources to provide for all that was needed so they declared a period from the third to the seventh month to build up resources for the work. At the end of that time there plenty, in fact heaps of resources.
We have headed off to secular work for three months or so to bring in finances. Now no one in their right mind would set everything up and then literally take their hands off the work. I think its awesome, unless the Lord builds the house those who labor , labor in vain. The Lord said “do you trust Me”. I believe the work will flourish, because it’s His work. I know how He does things, He does them by His Spirit.
Having the “Sure Foundation Course” available on our website means we can be off working in a pack house and the work can continue. I didn’t want to do online teaching now its seems like so much the smarter move. Its there all week, day and night.
Our jobs have gone from 6 days a week at 9 hours a day to 10 hour a day shifts, if you haven’t worked on a frantic production line you are blessed. I don’t work there as much as survive there. It will make for funny stories at the end.
One thing though, people are awesome. All races and ages in their getting it done. Not easy work, not even appreciated work but people do it, above and beyond. Most folk cut all their breaks short to get back and try to get ahead. I have fresh heart for folk at the bottom of so called ladder. Its like undercover boss, most bosses would not be able to do what these workers do.
Stand still and see the salvation of God, I am believing to see God move like only He can. Globally, with all levels of leadership, with all country’s and within His church. I am expecting at the end of this period to stand back and be amazed at it all that He has done and continues to do.
PS; I’ve always thought that it is really healthy for church leaders to work in “secular employment’ periodically to keep them in touch with what its like for the people that they serve.
